H Wedding Candids

Even though I wasn't snapping away for the actual wedding, I did manage to get some really cute candid shots of the girls getting ready and then some odds and ins throughout the evening. Here is a quick sneak peek.

The S Family

What an amazingly sweet family. They graciously hosted the wedding at their home yesterday and while we had some down time, we were able to get in a few family pictures. Thanks for being such sweet hosts and welcoming us all into your home.

Welcome To The Family

Yesterday was the day-my sister got remarried and our family grew by two, Rob and his very sweet little girl, Lauren. The wedding was small but pretty perfect, in my eyes. Black and white with a touch of red and so very tastefully done. You would have never known that this wedding was planned in less than a month and although my sister did a lot of the planning, she was surrounded by an amazing group of girlfriends. Each girlfriend brought something special to the day and without them, the day wouldn't have gone off as perfectly as it did. I didn't take many pictures of the wedding since someone else graciously took charge of that but I did get to take some fun pictures of the kiddos.

To my new family members, Rob and Lauren, welcome to this crazy but very loving family. We are so blessed that you have came into our lives and we look forward to making many new memories with each of you. To my sister, you looked stunning and I am so happy to see you this happy. To my Brett, Leah and Blake, you guys did an amazing job supporting your mommy, you all make me so proud! To Kaden, thank you for sitting so still on my lap during the ceremony and not embarrassing me :0)

This morning I had the special treat of getting to shoot my sister and her soon-to-be hubby, which I guess would make him my soon-to-be brother-in-law… We had a little bit of time before heading over and celebrating my grandpa's 80th birthday so we took to my parent's playground. As we moved from location to location my personal assistant (thanks dad) lugged the blankets, camera bag, and the step stool. You see, I am a whopping 5'4'' and trying to shoot someone or in this case, two someones who are 5'11 plus, is pretty difficult. We lucked out when a neighbor of my dad's had a beautiful white fence, water fountains, and even a swing-Thanks Larry for the use of your house and yard too! Can't really call this much of a sneak peek since we edited and pulled out our favorites together. Can't wait for the wedding!!

Its So Official

Oliver Beckett Photography that is!  So what is Oliver Beckett Photography and how can you contact us? OBP is probably the scariest thing I have done in my life and yes, that includes birthing two children. Its my little pet project, something that I am doing for myself (and my family of course) but something that honestly, makes me smile when even thinking about picking up my camera. My hope and dream is to capture those special family moments. Whether it be the anticipation of a pending arrival, those first few days as a new family of 3, 4, or more. Whether it is the companionship between a beloved dog and his master or a family gathering to celebrate turning 80 wonderful years old. Whatever it may be, I want to be able to capture that moment and make time stand still.

My main goal for this blog is to give a quick sneak peek to those who I have just shot with. I know when we have our family pictures taken that I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see a preview, so this is where the first pictures will show up. Since it will take some time to build a client base, posts could be very few and far between in the beginning but fingers crossed word of mouth works wonders and we will see lots of new faces gracing the pages of this blog.

The L Family

The L Family visited me a couple weeks back on one very hot day. Luckily we were able to get a few outside shots in early before heading inside to the nice and cool temperatures. This is the L family's first family session since their Baby Boy B was born. Baby Boy B was such a pleasant baby to be around and shoot, he was full of smiles. Can't wait to watch him grow over the next year.
